The Kaduna State Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Chairman, Comrade Abdulgaffar Alabewele has sworn-in new Treasurer of the Council.
The swearing-in which took place at a monthly congress meeting at NUJ Secretariat, the Chairman Alabewele charged the new Treasurer to be active, above board and work diligently in the overall interests of the Union and journalism profession.
He charged her and all members present to put in their best in upholding the journalism code of ethics of holding government accountable to the people as stipulated by the Nigerian constitution.
In her remark after the swearing-in, the new Treasurer Fatima Aliyu of Radio Nigeria Kaduna Chapel promised to discharged her duties with fear of god, according to established laws and for God and humanity.
She then appeal to other executive members to accord her all necessary cooperation and leverage to help her contribute her best in the service of the Union and journalism practice in the state and the nation at large.
Aliyu then called upon her colleagues journalists to pray and give her similar cooperation to serve them well within the ambit of the journalism code of ethics.
