Kaduna, Nigeria — The Kaduna State Administrator of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Hajiya Aisha Wushishi, has highly commended the reforms implemented by the agency's current Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, for establishing a streamlined and efficient process for tax payments across the country.
Hajiya Wushishi, who also oversees FIRS operations in Plateau and Benue States, made the commendation while speaking with newsmen during this year's global business and customer relations commemoration week for tax transactions in Kaduna.
Positive Impact of Reforms
According to the Administrator, the reforms initiated and executed by Dr. Adedeji’s leadership have successfully transformed the FIRS into a more customer-focused and friendly Federal Tax Agency. These changes include:
* Simplified processes for tax collections.
* Allowing taxpayers to easily make payments from the comfort of their homes.
* Instant online issuance of tax payment certificates.
Hajiya Wushishi noted that these initiatives are aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Administration Economic Reforms Initiatives, which have positively influenced the agency by enhancing internal operations and strengthening business relationships with various categories of customers. This alignment is critical for the effective fulfillment of the FIRS mandate.
Call for Continued Compliance
In her remarks, the Administrator also praised taxpayers within the areas under her purview for their high level of response and compliance, despite the "daunting challenges in areas of business and economic activities in the country".
She urged taxpayers, particularly those recently recognized and rewarded for excellent performance, to continue their unrelentless efforts. She specifically called on the recognized taxpayers, along with the Kaduna Office staff, who are credited with the success story, "to continue to keep the flag flying at all times for more greater success of the agency's operation to be achieved in its in the State".
