KADUNA – With the deadline for the 2026 Hajj fast approaching, the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has issued a final call for intending pilgrims to complete their payments, warning that the window for securing a slot is closing.
The Executive Chairman of the Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, has declared a race against time, urging all prospective pilgrims to settle the full fare of ₦7,696,769.76 before the December 5, 2025 deadline imposed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The urgent appeal was made on Wednesday following Malam Salihu's return from a pre-Hajj inspection tour in Saudi Arabia, where he assessed critical logistics for the upcoming pilgrimage.
"To ensure a seamless and comfortable Hajj for our citizens, we must have our numbers and funds finalized," Malam Salihu stated. "This deadline is not set by us, but by NAHCON. Timely payment is the only way we can secure quality accommodations, transportation, and feeding arrangements for our pilgrims."
The Chairman confirmed that his team has already inspected living quarters and transport services in Mecca and Medina, laying the groundwork for what the agency hopes will be a successful exercise. He expressed concern for pilgrims who have only made partial payments, directly advising them to "immediately deposit the balance," and for those who have not started, to begin the process without delay.
The announcement signals the final phase of preparations for the holy journey. Failure to meet the December 5 cutoff risks disqualification, as the state agency must collate its final list and remit the necessary funds to the national body.
The Agency's Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Datti, confirmed the details, emphasizing that the agency is on standby to assist intending pilgrims with the payment process.
