The budget, tagged “Budget of Consolidating Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development,” was unveiled during a Special Town Hall Meeting on Friday, where the governor declared a continued focus on infrastructure and human capital.
A substantial 71 per cent of the total budget, amounting to N699.7 billion, is earmarked for capital expenditure. Recurrent spending, covering personnel costs and overheads, is allocated N286.2 billion, or 29 per cent.
Funding and Revenue Outlook
Outlining the funding plan, the government projects a robust revenue profile. The budget is to be financed from an opening balance of N150 billion, recurrent revenue of N584.3 billion, and other capital receipts totaling N251.6 billion.
A notable highlight of the revenue forecast is a major expected surge in federal allocations. The state’s share from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) is projected to rise significantly to N472.1 billion, forming a critical part of the administration's financing strategy.
The town hall meeting featured stakeholders from traditional institutions, civil society, the private sector, and groups representing women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Participants commended the state's implementation of the 2025 budget and provided inputs on the new proposal.
Governor Sani used the occasion to present his administration’s two-year performance scorecard, reaffirming a commitment to institutional strengthening and improved public service delivery.
The budget proposal will now be transmitted to the Kaduna State House of Assembly for legislative scrutiny and passage.
