KANO, NIGERIA – Honorable Ado Mohammed Maikaba, the Secretary of Nasarawa Local Government, has formally expressed strong support for the strategic realignment of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an interview with a team of Journalists from Kaduna, Maikaba described the move as a historic turning point that prioritizes the collective interests of Kano citizens over decades-long personal political affiliations.
Reflecting on the Governor’s long-standing relationship with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Honorable Maikaba noted that after 40 years of unwavering loyalty, Governor Abba has "graduated" from the school of political apprenticeship.
He emphasized that the decision to join the APC is rooted in a deep understanding of the state’s current needs and a desire to foster a more inclusive governance structure.
"The Governor has spent forty years in the trenches of loyalty. He understands the landscape better than anyone," said Honorable Maikaba. "By choosing this path, he is ensuring that Kano State is no longer a house divided, but a unified front ready to collaborate with federal leadership for the benefit of our people."
The transition is expected to consolidate the various political factions within the state. Maikaba highlighted the burgeoning synergy between Governor Abba and prominent APC figures, including former National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
This unity, according to Maikaba, is essential for securing federal support and implementing long-term developmental projects.
The Secretary further outlined the core objectives of this political shift:
