A member of the ruling (APC) in , Kaduna State, Amanda Tanko Usman, has urged Muslims and Christians observing Ramadan and Lent to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and security in the state and across Nigeria.
In a statement issued to journalists in , Amanda Tanko described the coincidence of the two major religious observances as a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal and strengthened interfaith harmony. She called on adherents of both faiths to embrace love, sacrifice, and mutual understanding throughout the fasting period.
The APC member expressed confidence that the joint period of prayer and reflection would further reinforce ongoing efforts to consolidate peace and security in Kaduna State under the administration of .
She also appealed to citizens to pray for leaders at all levels, stressing that national progress depends on collective support that transcends ethnic and religious differences. According to her, sustained prayers remain vital to the success of those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.
Commending the current administration’s achievements, Amanda Tanko noted that peace has gradually returned to several communities previously affected by insecurity. She specifically praised the governor’s initiatives aimed at restoring normalcy and improving the safety of residents across the state.
