KANAM, PLATEAU — A leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Kantana State Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, has congratulated newly inaugurated ward and local government party executives in Kanam Local Government Area, describing the development as a fresh boost for grassroots democracy.

In a statement issued on Sunday, February 22, 2026, by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Taru Salim Dugub, Garga said the emergence of the new leadership marked more than a routine change, but a strategic step toward strengthening unity and inclusiveness within the party structure in Plateau State.

The aspirant, who is seeking election into the Plateau State House of Assembly, urged the executives to embrace transparent and consultative leadership, emphasizing that effective grassroots mobilisation remained central to electoral success.

“Grassroots engagement is the bedrock of sustainable political growth,” Garga said, encouraging the new officials to engage directly with communities, bridge internal gaps, and work closely with party loyalists to consolidate the APC ahead of future elections.

He also pledged his readiness to collaborate with the executives, noting that his doors remained open for partnerships that would advance the party’s agenda at both state and national levels.

Garga further commended the leadership style of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for what he described as a transparent and rancour-free party exercise, despite the state’s complex political dynamics.

According to him, the governor’s approach reflected purposeful leadership that aligned with the broader democratic vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the process involved all interest groups and fostered cooperation among stakeholders.

The APC aspirant also expressed appreciation to the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, for sustaining harmony between the national and state party structures.

As political activities intensify ahead of the 2026 calendar, Garga said the successful inauguration of the new executives would help stabilise the APC’s base in Kanam Local Government Area.
