The emergence of Mahmoud Mamman Lagos as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Doka/Gabasawa State Constituency has continued to generate excitement among party supporters, community leaders and residents who believe his candidacy represents continuity, grassroots inclusion and renewed political engagement.
In his reaction after emerging victorious at the polls, Mahmoud Mamman Lagos expressed gratitude to Almighty God for what he described as a successful and peaceful exercise, dedicating the victory to the people of Doka/Gabasawa Constituency.
According to him, the mandate belongs to the people who stood firmly behind his aspiration and demonstrated confidence in his leadership capacity.
“I thank Almighty God for witnessing this great day and victory at the poll. I dedicate this victory to my people and the entire people of Doka/Gabasawa,” he said.
The APC candidate also appreciated the support of key political leaders and stakeholders whose encouragement, he noted, contributed immensely to the success recorded during the exercise.
He specifically thanked the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, party leaders, members of the APC family and fellow aspirants who participated in the process, describing the contest as a collective democratic effort aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the general elections.
Political observers within the constituency believe Mahmoud Mamman Lagos carries with him a strong legacy of grassroots politics and community service associated with his father, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, widely regarded as a political maestro with deep connections across communities in the area.
Over the years, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos has built a reputation for mobilization, political mentorship and empowerment initiatives that touched many families, particularly youths and women at the grassroots level. Analysts say the younger Lagos is expected to build on that political structure and experience to attract greater opportunities and developmental benefits to Doka/Gabasawa Constituency.
Residents and party supporters have also expressed optimism that Mahmoud Mamman Lagos would use his political influence and family network to open more doors for employment opportunities, youth empowerment programmes, educational support initiatives and improved access to government interventions for constituents.
Many believe his emergence could strengthen the voice of Doka/Gabasawa at the Kaduna State House of Assembly and further attract development projects, empowerment programmes and government interventions to communities across Kaduna North Local Government Area.
Political observers also note that the constituency has historically produced influential lawmakers within the Assembly, a development many supporters believe Mahmoud Mamman Lagos can build upon through effective representation and grassroots engagement.
