Ambassador Yerima Shettima, a prominent aspirant for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District seat, has formally announced his withdrawal from the race, pledging full loyalty and support to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking at a press conference, Shettima explained that his decision followed extensive consultations and reflection, emphasizing that it was motivated by party unity and discipline rather than fear or weakness.
“This decision is not borne out of fear, weakness, or cowardice, but rather from my unwavering commitment to party unity, discipline, and collective progress,” he stated.
Shettima expressed deep gratitude to his supporters, party stakeholders, and non-party members who rallied behind his vision, assuring them that their solidarity would never be taken for granted. He urged his followers to remain calm and fully committed to supporting APC candidates at all levels, stressing that the unity and success of the party must remain the collective priority.
The former aspirant also called for reconciliation among aggrieved members of the APC, noting that peace and cohesion were essential for the party’s strength and progress. He singled out the Capacity Movement, led by Shehu Sani Sado, and his campaign council for their loyalty and sacrifices throughout his political journey.
Reaffirming his support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, Shettima pledged to continue contributing to the peace, unity, and development of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
“Together, we shall continue to work for the peace, unity, and development of Kaduna State and Nigeria,” he said.
With his withdrawal, Shettima declared his alignment with the party’s decisions, reinforcing his commitment to the APC’s collective victory in the upcoming polls.
