Giwa local Government Council says it had prioritized spending on Security, Health, infrastructure, Education, and Agriculture in its 2023 budget.
The Council Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Giwa disclosed this while presenting the breakdown of the Council's draft budget at the Kaduna state ministry for local government affairs.
Dr. Abubakar Giwa said the draft budget shows that the capital expenditure for the projected year is high than the recurrent spending and expenditure.
The Council Chairman said the 2023 budget, is drafted based on the needs of the people of the area, as such the council will ensure proper implementation of the budget.
He said with the little resources of the council it will not relent in the aspect of providing projects that have a direct bearing on the people of the area.
Dr. Abubakar applauded the Federal and Kaduna State Governments for their laudable support to the local government councils in the state which according to him without their allocation, there is no how the councils can achieve success in generating the drafted fund for the annual budget.
The council Chairman enjoined people in Giwa local government to rally around the state and Giwa local governments by living in peace, and security conscious and supporting government programs to enable it to execute more meaningful projects.
In a remark, budget defense Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Abba Umar, permanent secretary in the ministry, charged the Council Chairman to spend the funds based on the budget estimate in both capital and recurrent expenditure.
