More Development Milestone for Volleyball, as President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, presents Equipment to the Northwest States




“Essence of the donation of these balls is for the development”

In furtherance of commitment to aggressively promote grassroots sports development, Beach and volleyball equipment worth millions of naira was distributed to the seven states of the Northwest Zone.

The equipment was presented to the zones’ Directors of Sports at the volleyball court of Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

Presenting the items, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, (NVF) Engr Musa Nimrod, appealed to the states to ensure the equipment is optimally utilized to develop the game in the zone.

“The essence of the donation of these balls is for the development of the game of Beach and Volleyball in the Northwest Zone”.

“We want to improve the game and I want to appreciate God the zone that is producing young players, hence this support to see more”.

Engr Musa Nimrod noted with satisfaction the progress made in volleyball in Kaduna State, having male and female National Premier League teams, which he described as part of the returns of investment in youths.

“We are indeed seeing the dividend of what we doing, see now Kaduna State has two premier league teams, male and female which good for volleyball and that is what we envisage for another state in the zones who do not have league teams”.

“Now my concern now is how I can maintain being under nineteen African champions in Africa”. “This is three consecutive wins back-back can we maintain it, that is the most important thing now, that’s why we are taking the game to grassroots so that we can discover more talents and nurture them for the continental assignment, hence today’s ceremony is very important”.

Items distributed to the states include Beach Balls, Volleyball Balls, and Nets two each for the seven states of the zone. They are Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, and Kaduna states.

Commenting on the level of competitiveness and quality of the just concluded National Volleyball Premier League that just rounded up in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, Engr Nimrod said ” the era of football and volleyball popularity is back; therefore am happy with that.
