A new brand of competitive sport has been unveiled by the members and officials of the Nigeria Break Dance Sport Federation (NBDSF) has made a demonstration of the new sport at the venue of the ongoing Northwest Zonal Elimination for the national sports festival, Kaduna.
The Guest of Honor at the ceremony, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr Musa Nimrod who is a fan of break Dance Sport, said that break Dance Sport will be a major thing that will bring youth together against all forms of violence.
Nimrod who stated this in a remark at the awareness creation and demonstration ceremony described Break Dance Sport as the twenty-second century Sport.
“Since the world is digital, I have been watching online and I love it”.
He appealed to the federal ministry of youth and sports development to consider and approved the break dance sport as a federation, considering its potential to engage youths in sport and entertainment.
“I want to appeal to the federal ministry of youth and sports development that break Dance Sport will a major thing that will bring youth together against all violence and other social vices like kidnapping and banditry”.
“From the demonstration, I can see that Nigeria has great potential for the future of break Dance Sport”.
Engr Musa Nimrod noted that as soon as people get aware of the sport they will join in numbers, hence the challenge would start.
The Volleyball Federation Boss tasked the dancers to be patience, perseverant, and prayerful for them to succeed.
In an interview, the Vice President of Nigeria Break Dance Sport Federation, Mohammed Abdul (Americana) said the Federation is primarily, to grow further the art of dancing and transform the art into a sport that shall be competed for, by different categories of individuals at local, state, national and international sporting competitions.
He explained that so far, they have reached out to several schools for awareness creation and sensitization
