The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated its members who have been included in the list of standing committees of the Ibrahim Gusau-led Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

A press statement by SWAN Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, on Tuesday, while conveying the Association's President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin's uttermost delight in the caliber of members who are chosen to be part of various committees, hailed the decision of the NFF leadership.

The SWAN President who expressed confidence that SWAN members appointed to the committees have the pedigree to deliver, urged them to offer their best at all times.

"I am particularly delighted with the composition of the new NFF standing committees. Appointing experienced SWAN members into specific committees is a welcome development.

"And it is my uttermost belief that they will do well to make the sporting media proud as the SWAN leadership is committed to encouraging its members to aspire and showcase their worth at any point in time," he said.

Members of SWAN appointed into committees included the Media committee which has Madam Aisha Falode as Chairperson, Mr. George Aluo as Vice Chairman, Alhaji Lirwanu Malikawa, immediate past SWAN Vice President (North West) as member, Mr. Godwin Enakhena and Mr. Frank Ilaboya, a former Lagos SWAN Chairman as a member.

Also part of the NFF Women committee is Mr. Harry Awurumibe, Mr. Calistus Ibare as Organising Committee member, and Mr. Richard Jideaka as Beach Committee member.

The SWAN National President further urged his esteemed members to be ambassadors of the association in the discharge of their responsibilities while commending the NFF leadership for finding them worthy of their appointments.

"Our commitment to working with the NFF now and always is sacrosanct.

"Kindly accept the assurances of the best wishes of the President," he added.
