The Federal Government has been called upon to investigate the whereabouts of farmer inputs and tractors allocated to farmers through the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry from twenty-nineteen to twenty-twenty-three (2019-2023).
The National President of Mechanization Cooperative of Nigeria, Dr Aliyu Muhammad Waziri, San Turakin Tudun Wada Kaduna made the call in a chat with newsmen, briefly after the award ceremony given to him by Arewa Publisher's Forum of Nigeria in his office at Kaduna.
Dr Aliyu Waziri explained that former President Muhammadu Buhari has made sure farmers were supported during his administration through the Ministry of Agriculture to reduce poverty and unemployment in the country.
He said the government secured about two point two billion dollars ($2.2bn) from the Republic of Brazil and the German government to disburse to about twenty-five million (25m) farmers in the country but the money could not be accounted for.
Aliyu Muhammad Waziri further said the organization is in support of the federal government on recovery of Anchor borrows money as the money is not disbursed to real farmers in the country.
Aliyu Muhammad Waziri explained that the Agriculture Mechanization Cooperative of Nigeria is geared up to provide job opportunities to graduates, youths, and women in Nigeria in other to improve food security in the country.
He thanked the present administration of President Ahmed Tinubu for his renewed hope agenda in the Agricultural sector.
Aliyu Muhammad Waziri also appreciated the Arewa Publisher's Forum of Nigeria for seeing him worthy of the award and promised to continue to collaborate with journalists for the development of the Nation.
