ANRIN Leads Coalition of Civil Society Organisations For 16 Days Of Activism…KADSGBV, ANRIN, Others To collaborate to ensure SGBV is eliminated

The broad-based Coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Kaduna Coalition Against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, KADSGBV has expressed appreciation to the Accelerating Nutrition Results In Nigeria (ANRIN) been the major sponsor of the 2023 16 Days of Activism.

A statement issued by the KADSGBV Chairperson, Barrister Bukola Ajao, said in the spirit of this 2023 theme, ‘Unite, Invest to prevent’ ANRIN-Kaduna has demonstrated uncommon commitment to mitigate SGBV amongst adolescents and children.

“We are indeed, most grateful for the kind efforts and continued collaboration with ANRIN on the adolescents and children spaces in the recent past for awareness creation”.

Barrister Ajao explained that KADSGBV, ANRIN, and other partners would continue to collaborate to ensure the menace of SGBV is eliminated in society.

The statement reads in parts;

“Identifying effective ways to prevent forms of gender-based violence (GBV) among adolescents and youths is vital to reduce rates of GBV. Adolescents are uniquely impacted by GBV, their young age and inexperience with relationships can heighten their risk for physical and sexual intimate partner violence, being a victim of GBV during adolescence can lead to long-lasting negative mental and physical health outcomes, and can set young women on a trajectory for subsequent abuse”.

“This is to also congratulate the World Bank, Kaduna State government, and its people for the set of committed professionals presiding over ANRIN projects in the state”, – Barrister Ajao added.

While the 16 days of Activism activities continued, the statement lauded the dedication of KADSGBV members and the professionalism shown so far as the momentum grows.

In the statement, Bukola Ajao profoundly thanked the Human Services and Social Development Ministry led by a renowned gender and child activist, Dr. Rabi Salisu for the support at all times.

"We are also sincerely grateful for the support from NAPTIP and Human Rights Commission as well as other organizations and individuals in the SGBV family".
