Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has bagged the 2023 Digital Governor of the Year award.

The award, organized by the Nigerian Computer Society, NCS, is tagged: National Information Technology Merit Award, NITMA.

The NCS, while presenting the award to the governor in a ceremony in Lagos, said Mr Sani emerged as the winner after an online voting process by Nigerians.

The organisers commended the governor for his unwavering dedication and efforts in bolstering the application of technology in the administration of the state, especially in the areas of agriculture, revenue collection, health, and education.

“These technological interventions have made Kaduna State a hub of technological innovation and advancement,” the society said.

While thanking the NCS for their remarkable work across Nigeria, the governor said the award will serve as inspiration to him and his colleagues to take proactive steps in advancing the Nigerian digital landscape.

“This award is not only an acknowledgement of our accomplishments, but I believe that this will serve as an inspiration for others to follow our proactive steps in advancing Nigeria’s digital landscape,” the governor said in a statement by his spokesman, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, on Tuesday.

The annual NCS-NITMA seeks to recognise and celebrate exceptional individuals, state governments, and institutions for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of information technology in Nigeria and beyond.

The statement noted that the governor would continue to prioritise the development of technological infrastructure to ensure that all citizens in the state have equal access to digital services and connectivity.
