Makarfi Local Government Celebrates Sons' Achievements with Awards



The Makarfi Local Government Education Support Committee recently honoured two of its indigenes, Professor Aisha Abdulkadir, and ∆(Professor Gausu Ahmad, for their outstanding academic achievements and contributions to their respective fields.

Professor Abdulkadir, Head of the Soil Science Department at the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR) at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and Professor Ahmad, of the Department of Mass Communication at Bayero University Kano, were each presented with an award of excellence during separate ceremonies held at their respective universities.

The award ceremony, held separately at both universities, was officiated by the district head of Makarfi, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi. 

He praised the professors as role models and commended their contributions to academia and community development.

Alhaji Abdullahi specifically commended Professor Abdulkadir for her commitment to advancing agricultural excellence and bridging the gap between academia and the farming community and described Professor Ahmad as an academician who has nurtured young generations to embrace journalism as a profession.

Alhaji Mahmud Gazara, Chairman of the committee emphasized the tradition of honoring individuals who achieve such significant milestones. He expressed hope that their achievements would inspire the younger generation in the area.

The presentations were attended by distinguished guests from both universities and the Makarfi community led by the District Head and members of the Committee.
