The Member representing Mani and Bindawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yusuf Ahmed Doro, has commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) North West zone stakeholders' meeting, describing it as apt and necessary for the progress and stability of the party in the zone.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Doro appreciated the party leadership for their foresight in convening the meeting to address the socioeconomic challenges faced by the people of the zone. He emphasized the need for internal democracy to thrive within the party, especially as the party's convention approaches.
The federal lawmaker assured the stakeholders and party members that he would work towards ensuring more dividends of democracy for the people of his constituency and the zone at large. He hinted at building on the successes of the N-power program to introduce new initiatives that would engage youth in schools and healthcare centers.
Commenting on the recent defection of former Katsina State Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, Hon. Doro explained that the former governor's return to the APC indicated his belief in the leadership style of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the openness with which Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, was steering the affairs of the state.
The APC North West zone stakeholders' meeting, which held recently, brought together party leaders and stakeholders from the seven states of the North West zone to discuss the party's progress and challenges in the zone.
The meeting was seen as a crucial step towards addressing the socioeconomic problems faced by the people of the zone and strengthening the party's unity and cohesion.
Hon. Doro's commendation of the meeting and his call for internal democracy within the party were seen as a welcome development ahead of the party's preparation for the upcoming convention and the need for a united front to ensure the party's continued success in the zone.
