Battle for Supremacy Begins as Governor Uba Sani's 5-Aside Football Tournament Enters Knockout Stage

 The stage is set for the second round of the Governor Uba Sani First Year Anniversary 5-Aside Football Tournament, scheduled to kick off on Wednesday at the state-of-the-art Futsal Arena, Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna.

As preparations intensify among the 16 qualified teams, government functionaries, friends of the governor, and political appointees are already talking tough ahead of the knockout stage. One of Governor Uba Sani’s friends, international businessman and Patron of Team Kuru, Abdullahi Muhammad Kuru, has given the first warning, stressing his desire to win the maiden edition of the Cup.

Speaking to newsmen after their final group match against Team Manzo, Abdullahi expressed his confidence in his team’s ability to win the trophy. “We are playing for fun, playing to honor our dear governor, and celebrating him for his first year in office. This is celebrating a milestone in office,” he said.

Abdullahi praised the organizers for making the governor realize that he has a lot of people who believe in his ability and the state leadership. He also lauded the tournament for promoting peace, friendship, and unity among stakeholders.

Team Kuru has already registered two wins from three matches and is in a good position to wrestle for the cup. Abdullahi assured that his players are determined to win the trophy, and the important thing is that the game has succeeded in bringing people together in a demonstration of love for the governor.
