ASR AFRICA Kick Off The Re-Construction Of Malam Abdulkarim Jumma’at Mosque, At A Groundbreaking Event In Zaria


Governor Uba Sani Performing Groundbreaking For Reconstruction of the Mallam Abdulkarim Jumma’at Mosque in Zaria.

ASR Africa has commenced the re-construction of the Mallam Abdulkarim Jumma’at Mosque at the Palace of Emir of Zazzau in Zaria.

This event was organized by the Zazzau Emirate Council under the leadership of the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Mal. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

The groundbreaking event marks the beginning of a remarkable journey and had in attendance distinguished personalities including the Chairman of ASR Africa and BUA Group, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, Royal fathers, Government officials, the Zazzau emirate council, Districts Heads, traditional tittle holders and members of the public.

The Governor of the State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani who was the host of the event acknowledged the presence of the royal fathers present especially His Excellency, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, as well as other special guests of Honour includes Abbas Tajudeen  Speaker of the House of Representative and the (Iyan Zazzau), Mallam Balarabe Abass Lawal, Honourable Minister for Environment and Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman ASR Africa and the BUA Group.

The Governor expressed immense appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the reconstruction of the mosque and prayed for the blessings of the Almighty Allah on them.

He added that the edifice which will serve not just as a place of worship but will attract tourists to the state.

The Emir of the Zazzau, His Highness Mal. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli acknowledged the effort of the committee members who have worked tirelessly towards the reconstruction of the edifice.

He specially thanked the Chairman of ASR Africa for taking up the huge financial responsibility of the re-construction of the mosque.

This architectural edifice was initially built in 1836 and was a testament of the rich history and architectural heritage of the region.

Upon the collapse of August 10th, 2023, the Chairman of ASR Africa, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu took up the reconstruction of the mosque to give a new significance to the region.

The mosque will accommodate a total of 2,000 worshippers on two floors, with a large courtyard space accommodating an extra 5,000 worshippers.

Other facilities will include an ablution area, a library, ICT center office spaces to provide administrative support to the mosque.

Other guests present at the event praised the Chairman of ASR Africa for his generosity and prayed for more persons to emulate his kind gesture towards humanity.

The brainchild of African Industrialist, Philanthropist and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) was established in 2021 to provide sustainable, impact-based, homegrown solutions to developmental issues affecting Health, Education and Social Development within Africa.
