Kada Warriors FC marked their debut in the Nigeria National League (NNL) with a historic 2-1 victory over Adamawa United FC in the season opener.

The Kaduna-based team demonstrated their determination and skill with an outstanding performance that kept the home team on the back foot at the Pantami Township Stadium, Gombe State.

Seven minutes into the second half, Kada Warriors’ persistence paid off as Ham Danjuma (47’) scored the team’s first-ever goal of the campaign. The intensity of the game increased, and 23 minutes later, Muwaffaq Mohammed (70’) doubled the lead for the Uba Sani Boys.

Adamawa United managed to secure a consolation goal in the dying moments of the match, with Joshua Abba scoring in the second minute of added time (90+2).

Kada Warriors’ Head Coach, Tunde Abdulrahman, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s impressive performance. “We executed our game plan with minimal errors, which we will address before our next game. I am happy with the boys’ performance,” he said.

Looking ahead, Coach Abdulrahman noted that the team’s focus is now on their upcoming home game in Kaduna against Yobe Desert Stars. “Preparations have already begun for the match from here, which is coming up in about two weeks,” he added.

The victory is more than just three points for the Kada Warriors—it is a statement of intent in their NNL campaign. For a newly established team, their ability to secure a win in their debut match away from home reflects their potential to compete at the highest level.

Fans in Kaduna are now eagerly awaiting the Warriors’ home debut, where the team hopes to capitalize on their winning start and establish their dominance on home turf. With two weeks to fine-tune their strategies, the Uba Sani Boys are poised to continue their impressive journey in the league.

This memorable start has set a high standard for Kada Warriors FC, and all eyes will be on the team as they navigate the challenges of the season.
