Supporters and party faithful of the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Dahiru Yusuf Liman, turned out in large numbers across the five wards of Makera Constituency during the All Progressives Congress (APC) affirmation exercise, where he was returned unopposed.
The exercise, which witnessed early arrival of voters and party stakeholders at designated polling centres, was conducted peacefully amid tight security and enthusiastic participation by party members.
Residents, women groups, youths, and political associates queued patiently to cast their votes in support of the Speaker, describing his leadership style and representation at the Kaduna State House of Assembly as impactful and people-oriented.
Many supporters who spoke shortly after the exercise said the overwhelming turnout reflected the confidence the people have in Liman’s leadership and his continued commitment to the development of the constituency.
Some stakeholders and aides to the Speaker described the level of support displayed during the exercise as unprecedented, noting that the peaceful conduct and unanimous endorsement demonstrated the unity and strength of the APC in the area.
According to them, the affirmation was not only a vote of confidence in the Speaker but also a recognition of his contributions toward legislative stability and grassroots development in Kaduna State.
At the end of the exercise, the Returning Officer, Engr. Ezekiel Samuel Gode, officially declared Dahiru Yusuf Liman elected unopposed following the successful completion of the affirmation process.
Speaking after his declaration, Liman expressed appreciation to party members, supporters, and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to continue providing quality representation, strengthening party unity, and supporting programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
The affirmation exercise ended peacefully with jubilant supporters celebrating the Speaker’s victory across the constituency.
