Zamfara North senatorial aspirant Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has praised the appointment of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as Director-General of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 re-election campaign, calling it a "wise and purposeful selection."
Shinkafi made the remarks at a press conference held at his residence in Samaru, Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, describing the appointment as the right call by President Tinubu for such a strategic role.
He said Yari's extensive experience in electioneering, party management, and grassroots mobilization makes him well suited to lead the campaign. "Senator Yari is not new to winning elections. As a two-term governor of Zamfara State and former chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum, he built a formidable political structure. He also demonstrated capacity in party administration and conflict resolution as a key stakeholder in the APC," Shinkafi said.
He added that Yari brings the financial strength, national reach, and public trust needed to run an effective presidential campaign across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. "He understands the dynamics of Nigerian politics. He has the resources, the structure, and the goodwill to mobilize support for President Tinubu. His appointment will guarantee victory for the APC in 2027, in shaa Allah," he said.
Shinkafi also urged APC supporters to return to their communities and mobilize actively for Tinubu's re-election bid ahead of 2027. He called on party members to rally behind all APC candidates despite internal differences, stressing that unity remains essential to electoral success.
He expressed confidence that the coming election would be a smooth one for the APC, citing Yari's political sagacity, experience, and the trust he commands nationwide.
