In his determination to address the effects of erosion, Hon. Dr. Dayyabu Yusuf Garga, Executive Chairman Of Kanam Local Government Council has awarded contracts for the reconstruction of drainages in all streets in Dengi town.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman on Media, Publicity and Student Affairs, Taru Salim Dugub, described the development as apt.
The Senior Special Assistant said the works are part of the chairman's legacy which have a direct bearing and impact to making the town and villages habitable to the people.
"You see these projects are coming at a time when the people in our various communities need them and the Executive Chairman as proactive as always has been going round supervising these key projects"
"Our chairman is God sent even the people are delighted and Works have since commenced to that effect".
It would be recalled that the many streets in the town had been badly affected by erosion as result of blockages of the drainages in part of the town.
"It is inview of this that having attended to the affected roads, the best measure which is the reconstruction of the drainages is effected".
In a related development, the construction of drainage at the Kanam Local Government Council Secretariat and many streets have been completed already.
The Kanam Local Government Council boss re-emphasized his commitment to the course of his people through selfless and diligent service to them.
