Sama da mutane miliyan 282 a yankin kudu da hamadar sahara na fuskantar matsananciyar yunwa, in ji jami'in hukumar abinci da noma ta Majalisar Dinkin Duniya FAO.
"Yayin da muke magana, mutane miliyan 282 a nahiyar, fiye da kashi daya bisa biyar na al'ummar kasar, suna fuskantar yunwa, karuwar mutane miliyan 46," in ji jami'in kula da gandun daji na FAO, Kenichi Shono.
Shono ya bayyana hakan ne a wajen bude taron koli na duniya na Teak karo na hudu a Accra, babban birnin kasar Ghana, inda ya ce an samu karuwar bullar cutar a baya-bayan nan ne saboda wasu dalilai.
Irin waɗannan abubuwan sun haɗa da COVID-19, rikicin Rasha da Ukraine da rikicin yanayi.
Tare da yanayin yunwa, Shono ya ce, tsananin fari yana kara tsananta kaimi a nahiyar.
"Kasashe da yawa kuma suna fuskantar tasirin rikicin Rasha da Ukraine, musamman saboda hauhawar farashin kayayyaki, hauhawar farashin mai da wahalar samun kayan aikin gona kamar takin zamani," in ji shi.
Shono ya yi kira da a kara saka hannun jari a gandun daji da noman teak domin taimakawa wajen tinkarar kalubalen da ake fuskanta a Afirka da ma duniya baki daya.
Taron Teak na Duniya na kwanaki hudu, wanda Ghana ta dauki nauyin shiryawa, an sake dage shi daga shekarar 2020 zuwa wannan shekara sakamakon annobar COVID-19.
Taron wanda aka gudanar a Afirka karo na farko, ya mayar da hankali ne kan batutuwa kamar yadda ake gudanar da aikin noman shayi na kimiyya, inganta kwayoyin halitta, da maido da yanayin dazuzzuka.
