Brand new Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) Kaduna State, Shehu Abdullahi has promised exciting times, as he assured members that the executive would create a good relationship with the national body especially now that our leader is there.
Shehu Abdullahi who was still reacting with excitement over the emergence of Ishaiah Benjamin as SWAN National President, pledged to lead the Association with a strong focus on fostering growth and welfare for members.
“While we are still excited over the victory at the national leadership contest, I am not unaware of the task of giving sound leadership at the state to maintain and consolidate on achievements the state chapter recorded before now”.
“We shall borrow a leaf from the style and strategy of the former chairman to design a plan to promote sports development in Kaduna State”.
The new SWAN leader in the state appealed to members to support the new leadership to pursue the interests and desires of members, appealing to them to be up to date in their annual registration with the national body.
“To galvanize the above, generate ideas that can lead to vibrancy in Kaduna SWAN Chapter to midwife sport activities and provide professional reportage.”
Shehu urged members to uphold the tenets of the profession by always holding Sports administrators accountable, as a way of contributing to the development of sports in the state.
