Ahead of the scheduled rerun election for the Kaduna State House of Assembly in Makera constituency, prominent political parties in Kaduna State have jointly endorsed the candidature of Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) as their sole candidate.
In a joint Press conference in Kaduna, the political parties said for the upcoming re-run election in five polling units for the Makera, Kaduna South, State House of Assembly this Saturday, February 3, 2024 rerun elections, "we collectively resolved to support the APC's candidate to build on what he has started in the Assembly".
"We cannot be blinded due to political differences and opposition to deny our people this rare opportunity to give our contribution to the development of Kaduna State".
"The decision to unite in support of Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman stems from a collective recognition of his unwavering dedication to public service, proven track record, and commitment to the welfare of our beloved constituency."
His exemplary Leadership qualities and vision for a progressive and inclusive constituency align with the values shared by our diverse political parties," the statement stressed.
The parties noted that the joint endorsement underscores their teaming belief that Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman possesses the necessary qualities to represent the people of Makera State Constituency with integrity, transparency, and a genuine commitment to development.
"We urge all our members and residents of the five (5) affected polling units in Makera State Constituency to come out en masse to rally behind Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman and cast their votes in support of his candidature for he has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of the issues facing our constituency because he has a clear vision for a better future."
The participating political parties also affirmed commitment to a free, fair, and transparent electoral process free of rancour and called on all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and credible election takes place on February 3, 2024.
Meanwhile, in an interview, Hon Nura Muhammed Saraki explained that various candidates for the election have withdrawn to support Rt. Hon. Dahiru Liman in the election because, so far, he has started on the right footing in the 10th assembly.
He said we all stand down not to contest against him as a demonstration of patriotism to what the constituency stands for and for the greater good of the people Makera and the state.
Hon. Nura appealed to voters in those polling units to vote for Dahiru Liman to enable him to continue the good work he has started in the state assembly.
