Kaduna State Leads in Registration of Intending Pilgrims for 2024 Hajj

Zakari Haruna - Kaduna

Kaduna State has emerged as the leading state in the registration of intending pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj, with a total of 4,963 individuals registering for the religious pilgrimage. This significant figure contributes to the overall nationwide registration of 51,447 intending pilgrims, as confirmed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) after the close of registration last week.

In a press statement released, NAHCON commended the efforts of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government in facilitating the realization of this noble objective. The commission acknowledged the numerous sacrifices made by the Federal Government to ease constraints faced by intending pilgrims, emphasizing the importance of governmental support in facilitating the pilgrimage process.

NAHCON also expressed appreciation for the patience exhibited by pilgrims amidst uncertainties, noting the concern demonstrated by religious leaders and various stakeholders in addressing the challenges faced. The commission highlighted the collaborative efforts of state governors and media houses in finding solutions to the obstacles encountered during the 2024 Hajj preparations.

Despite unexpected challenges, NAHCON emphasized the importance of long-term planning in overcoming hurdles and ensuring the smooth execution of future Hajj operations. Going forward, the commission intends to prioritize long-term planning as a paradigm shift in its pre-Hajj operations to mitigate unforeseen challenges.
