In what appeared to be a holistic approach to giving attention to the most popular game, football its dues in terms of commitment to its development, the Berackiah International in collaboration with the Kaduna State Football Coaches Association, has signed a pact to train football coaches from the 23 local government areas of the state.

News Panorama reports that the signing of the agreement was witnessed by several coaches and some chairmen of local football councils at the Press Conference which was held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Saturday 11th November 2023.

In a welcome remark, the chairman of KSFCA, Rabiu Muhammed urged the coaches to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade themselves, even if it means going through their political Representatives for facilitation.

According to him, "Grassroots football coaching clinics are essential for the development of young football players. They provide a platform for players to learn the basics of the game, develop their skills, and build their confidence". 

Speaking shortly after the MOU signing ceremony, the Managing Director of Berackiah International, Mr. Nwigwe Wonders Nduka said this year's edition will witness an upgrade due to the Uefa partnership, with a certified coach from Europe as part of the resource persons.

According to him Berackiah International is into coaching education and is endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation.

"We are also in partnership with the Nigeria Coaches Association and the Nigeria Nationwide League and we have just finished the signing of an MOU with the Kaduna State Coaches Association for a football coaching clinic".

"This means any coach trained under Berackiah International is qualified to coach a nationwide club and sit on its bench and have the same opening in Europe in its third tier division".

Mr Nwigwe Wonders stated that the organisation has a partnership agreement with the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, (ALGON) which has given Berackiah a mandate to coach grassroots coaches from the 774 in the country.

"So we expect that coming to Kaduna, the ALGON Kaduna chapter here will be able to assist, as part of its corporate social responsibilities because if you train the grassroots coaches it means a reduction in crimes because they are very close to the youth at the local government level".

"We are looking forward to ALGON Kaduna to come and assist and sponsor a minimum of 20 coaches from each local government who will be certified and go back to the community and pass the knowledge to young players and in the long run we see football coming to Kaduna state.

"Grassroots football coaching clinics are essential for the development of young football players and coaches. They provide a platform for players to learn the basics of the game, develop their skills, and build their confidence. Coaches who attend these clinics also get a chance to develop their coaching skills", Mr Nwigwe added.
